When a busy commercial site needed a reliable water supply without relying on costly grid electricity, PFS delivered a smart, sustainable solution: a fully off-grid 3.5kW solar-powered borehole pump system. Installed in a remote location with no mains power access, this system now delivers a consistent and efficient water supply, powered entirely by the sun.
Challenge:
The client required a clean, consistent water supply from a borehole, but the site had no access to mains electricity. Traditional power sources like generators weren’t a viable long-term solution due to their noise, emissions, and maintenance requirements.
Our Solution:
PFS designed and installed a 3.5kW solar pump system capable of delivering up to 4 cubic metres of water per hour from the borehole. Key features included:
A powerful off-grid solar array tailored to site conditions
High-efficiency pump system matched to borehole yield and depth
Secure, weather-resistant housing for pump and controls
Minimal ongoing maintenance and no fuel costs

The Outcome:
The system has provided the client with a robust and environmentally friendly water supply solution. With zero reliance on fossil fuels and no ongoing energy bills, it’s a win for both sustainability and operational costs.
Why It Matters:
Solar-powered borehole systems are ideal for remote or off-grid sites offering reliable performance, lower lifetime costs, and a smaller environmental footprint. This project highlights how smart engineering and clean technology can solve real-world infrastructure challenges.
